An Austrian airline is claiming to have launched the shortest international flight - taking just eight minutes.
The quick trip, being sold by People's Viennaline, takes passengers from St Gallen in Switzerland to Friedrichshafen in Germany.
Tickets for the 13-mile journey - which will operate twice daily from November 2 - will cost £34 (€40).
There is also a ferry service available but is longer again, with times starting from one hour and 20 minutes.
A 50-seat Embraer 145 aircraft will be used for the new route, which will run ten times a week.
The idea behind the flight is to use it as a feeder flight to connect with the airline's Friedrichshafen-Cologne route, according to People's Viennaline CEO, Daniel Steffen.
However, passengers can also disembark at Friedrichshafen after the eight-minute flight from St Gallen.
Previously, the route between the Austrian capital of Vienna and the Slovak capital of Bratislava was the shortest international schedule.
However, the ten-minute trip is no longer operational anymore.
The world's shortest domestic flight is currently the mile-long journey from Westray to Papa Westray in Scotland's Orkey Islands, which can take as little as 47 seconds, depending on wind direction.
A bidding war over the route was settled in 2013, with the contract being awarded to Scottish airline Loganair, its current operator.
Meanwhile, the record for the longest flight goes to Emirates', which runs a 17-hour 20-minute schlep from Auckland, New Zealand to Dubai, UAE.
